AI already handles the work new hires do, such as policy memos, analysis and planning documents, so entry-level hiring in private-sector office work and policy analysis is expected to shrink first. Law school and teaching require more exams and licenses, and government jobs have no staffing floor, so little props up hiring.

Major lifespan is the time left until AI is expected to start shrinking hiring of this major’s graduates. It doesn’t mean the major will disappear or that everyone will lose their job.
