Entry-level production work such as banners, product detail pages, draft mockups, and photo retouching is shifting to generative AI, so junior hiring at agencies and in-house teams shrinks first (illustration commissions are already down). There is no licensing to act as a buffer, and persuading clients and art direction remain senior designers' work.
