AI takes over entry-level work like design and drawing reviews, and a PE stamp is required only on utility and public-sector drawings, so licensing does little to slow the shift. Data center and grid buildouts are boosting utility hiring, and on-site commissioning stays with people. A degree alone doesn't earn a PE license.
