AI has already begun absorbing the literature reviews, data processing, and QC documentation that new hires handle. Hands-on bench work such as cell culture and pipetting, along with GMP accountability requirements, props up on-site hiring, but that shield is weak, and NIH budget cuts add to the pressure.
