Studio instruction happens face to face, but generative AI is shrinking the fallback careers in illustration and design, and community and after-school art classes are moving to AI tutors, so instructor hiring feels the pressure first. On the teaching path, state licensing and seniority-based layoff rules slow this. Budget-driven cuts are separate from AI.
