Once imaging protocols and patient positioning guidance are automated and remote scanning lets one technologist cover several scan rooms, new hiring shrinks first. But licensing, the hands needed to move and position patients, and rising imaging volume from an aging population hold hiring up. An oversupply of programs is separate from AI.
