AI is taking over entry-level desk work such as drafting licensing documents and safety analyses, but regulators' acceptance of AI-generated output is a bottleneck, and on-site maintenance and plant operation, along with demand for new reactors and SMRs, prop up hiring. A degree alone does not earn a reactor operator license.
