AI absorbs the analysis, specifications, and documentation that new design-office hires handle, but full-vehicle testing and evaluating how a car drives remain, and type approval and automaker unions slow cuts. Restructuring at combustion-engine parts suppliers and the shift to electrification are separate from AI.
